East Java DPRD Appreciates BUMD Management in Surakarta City

Surakarta City - Member of the Budget Agency (Banggar) DPRD East Java Province Lilik Hendarwati appreciated the creative form of the Surakarta city government in managing Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD). This was conveyed after a working visit by Baggar DPRD Province of East Java to the Department of Economy and Natural Resources of the Regional Secretariat of Surakarta City, Tuesday (25/7/2023).

"From this visit we want to be able to see how the Surakarta city government has creativity in managing the potential of BUMD in Solo. One interesting quote earlier is how they say that in the delivery of limited capital, it is precisely this limitation that creates creativity. "I think this is extraordinary and maybe we will try to implement it in East Java," said Lilik.

Lilik added that so far the process of hiring with BUMDs in East Java has always ended with requests for additional capital without focusing on finding other alternative ways to increase the yield value of the BUMD itself.

"Often when hiring BUMDs in East Java, their requests are related to the addition of new capital, even though if we look at it, it turns out that so far the results have not been optimal. I see this as a challenge for East Java to be able to have one of our principles. Of course, with these limitations, you shouldn't just complain, but you have to increase your creativity in finding other alternatives to maximize BUMD performance so that the results can also be maximized," added Lilik.

On the same occasion, Member of the East Java Provincial DPRD from the Nasdem Suyatni faction also agreed that there were many positive things that could be learned and used as a reference to be implemented in East Java in terms of BUMD management.

"I see many good things that in East Java have not been implemented but here they have been implemented. In addition, the Surakarta city government is also not only focused on motor vehicle taxes, but a lot of efforts have been made to increase regional income. "Well, we have to study this so that later it can also be applied in East Java," said Suyatni.
