The 2025-2029 Regional Medium-Term Development Plan of the Province of East Java enacted, Khofifah appreciates Executive-Legislative Synergy

The Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda) on the 2025-2029 Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD), the Province of East Java, was officially enacted during the Regional House of Representative of the Province of East Java (DPRD Jatim) Plenary Session, Monday (7/7/2025), at the East Java DPRD building, Surabaya.

Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa appreciated the synergy between the executive and legislative during the deliberation of the Draft Regional Regulation RPJMD. "Thank you for the commitment, dedication, dan extraordinary efforts in discussing this draft," she stated.

Khofifah explained, the RPJMD document serves as the development roadmap for East Java over the next five years. She expressed hope that its implementation will be well-targeted and will be tangible benefit to the people. "It is hoped that the RPJMD is able to achieve a just, prosperous, competitive, and sustainable East Java in support of Indonesia Emas 2045," She added.

The plenary session included the agenda of delivering the final views of factions, decision-making on the Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda), and the Governor’s closing remarks. The signing of the joint approval between the DPRD and the Governor was also carried out.

Governor Khofifah emphasized that the drafting process of the RPJMD had gone through all stages and procedures in accordance with regulations. “Alhamdulillah, all procedures have been completed, including consultations with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), and the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPAN-RB),” she said.

Also present at the enactment were Deputy Governor Emil Elestianto Dardak, the Provincial Secretary of East Java, and heads of regional government agencies. The RPJMD will serve as the province’s development guideline as well as a reference for regencies and municipalities across East Java.

Following its joint approval, the 2025–2029 East Java RPJMD document will be submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs for evaluation before being enacted as a Regional Regulation (Perda).
