The Chairman of the East Java DPRD, Musyafak Rouf, reaffirmed institution's commitment to overseeing the revision of the East Java Provincial Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) for the 2025 fiscal year.
He underlined the DPRD’s vital role in ensuring that every budget adjustment is fully aligned with development priorities.
“As partners of the executive, we carry out three surveillance functions, and this is one of them,” Musyafak said on Wednesday (August 20, 2025).
He stated that the DPRD will carry out optimal surveillance of the proposed adjustment to the draft Revised Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (PAPBD).
According to him, evaluating budget priorities is essential to ensure that every fiscal policy proposed by the executive is well-targeted and contributes to public welfare.
“Indeed, what is outlined in the draft PAPBD will be thoroughly examined to determine whether the proposed revisions truly reflect those priorities,” Musyafak continued.
He added that the DPRD’s role in budgeting is crucial in the APBD revision process, serving as part of its surveillance function and as a counterbalance to executive policies.
