The East Java DPRD Secretariat Excels in Public Information Transparency Amid Fiscal Efficiency

SURABAYA — The East Java DPRD Secretariat achieved the second-highest ranking in the 2025 Public Information Transparency Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev), earning the prestigious “Informative” qualification.

The achievement was attained despite the challenges posed by fiscal efficiency policies and the continued implementation of work-from-home (WFH) arrangements across several government institutions.

The accomplishment was highlighted during the Indrapura Discussion themed “Assessing the Performance of the East Java DPRD Amid Efficiency 2026”, held at the Deliberation Body (Banmus) meeting room of the East Java DPRD on Wednesday (29/04/2026).

Secretary of the East Java DPRD, Mohammad Ali Kuncoro, emphasized that efficiency policies have not hindered the institution’s productivity in delivering public services.

"Amid efficiency and WFH implementation, we remain active and productive. The presence of the Indrapura Working Group has significantly contributed to strengthening public trust,” he stated.

According to Ali Kuncoro, adaptation and innovation have become key strategies in ensuring that public services and the institution’s representative functions continue to operate optimally despite fiscal pressures.

“There are three principles we uphold: adjustment without losing our representative spirit, priority-based innovation, and alignment with government programs such as Nawa Bhakti Satya and Asta Cita,” he explained.

Budiono Appreciates Institutional Performance Amid Budget Efficiency Policies

Vice Chair of Commission A of the East Java Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD Jatim), Budiono, expressed his appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the Secretariat of the East Java DPRD in maintaining institutional performance amid challenging fiscal conditions.

“In the midst of difficult fiscal circumstances, the measures taken by the Secretariat have been appropriate. The spirit remains one of solidarity and optimal performance,” he stated.

Budiono also highlighted several concrete efficiency measures that have begun to be implemented, including the evaluation of energy and fuel consumption conducted by the East Java Regional Financial Agency (BKD).

The Gerindra Party politician further revealed that he has personally started using public railway transportation to reduce fuel consumption during his work-related travel between Bojonegoro and Surabaya.

“I now travel by train from Bojonegoro to Surabaya. The fuel savings can reach up to 50 liters,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the East Java DPRD Secretary Mohammad Ali Kuncoro emphasized that public services must continue to operate at their highest standards despite the implementation of budget efficiency policies.

“If there are still complaints from the public, it means we must continue improving. Public services must be delivered comprehensively and effectively,” he asserted.

Commissioner of the East Java Information Commission, Solahudin, stated that the achievement of the East Java DPRD Secretariat serves as concrete evidence of its commitment to public information transparency.

“Coinciding with National Public Information Transparency Day on April 30, the East Java DPRD Secretariat is clearly one step ahead,” he remarked.

In the 2025 monitoring and evaluation results, the Secretariat of the East Java DPRD obtained an SAQ score of 98.28, a factual verification score of 100, and a presentation score of 97.66, resulting in a total score of 98.78 and the qualification of “Informative.” The institution ranked directly below the East Java Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo Jatim).

Solahudin further explained that out of a total of 64 public institutions evaluated, only 18 successfully achieved the “Informative” qualification.

“This means that the achievement of the East Java DPRD Secretariat is far from ordinary—it stands among the very best in East Java,” he emphasized."
