Appreciation for President Prabowo’s Performance Report Achievements, Cahyo Harjo Prakoso: Evidence of Commitment to Improving Quality of Life

President Prabowo Subianto’s performance report presented at the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) and the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) and Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) received appreciation from secretary of the Gerindra Faction at The East Java DPRD, Cahyo Harjo Prakoso

Cahyo stated that the achievements and targets of strategic programs presented by President, particularly in health, education, and social sectors, are an important part of realizing a sovereign, equitable, and prosperous Indonesia.

“I support and appreciate President’s performance report and strategic program targets, particularly in health, education, and social affairs. This reflects spirit of a Sovereign, Equitable, and Prosperous Indonesia,” Cahyo said following Special Plenary Session of The East Java DPRD, which listened to President Prabowo Subianto’s State of the Nation Address from The East Java DPRD plenary session on Friday (August 14, 2026).

Cahyo stated that government policy direction presented by President demonstrates a strong commitment to improving quality of life. During 21 months in governance, President reported having approved and implemented 121 transformative policies.

“The programs outlined by President demonstrate that development is not solely focused on economic growth, but also on ensuring that people have access to adequate healthcare, education, and social protection,” said the politician, who also serves as Chairman of Gerindra’s Surabaya branch.

Free Health Checkups and Health Insurance

In health sector, Cahyo appreciated implementation of Free Health Checkup Program, which has reportedly reached more than 108 million people. Government also fully covers National Health Insurance (JKN) contributions for 96.8 million poor and underprivileged citizens.

“Shifting the healthcare paradigm from treatment to prevention is a highly commendable step. Free health checkups, strengthening JKN, addressing stunting and tuberculosis, must continue to be expanded to further improve the quality of Indonesia’s human resources,” he said.

According to Cahyo, strengthening healthcare services must also be accompanied by efforts to address various public health challenges in regions.

Education, MBG, and Poverty Alleviation

In education sector, Cahyo highlighted the strategic impact of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), school renovations, and People's Schools (Sekolah Rakyat) programs. These programs are considered not only relevant to education, but also capable of creating opportunities to strengthen community economic capacity.

“Education programs must serve as an instrument to break the cycle of poverty. Therefore, school renovations, Free Nutritious Meals, and People’s Schools must be properly overseen to ensure their benefits truly reach children and families in need,” Cahyo stated.

He said that, the target of renovating 71,744 schools in 2026, along with 182 pilot People’s Schools, demonstrates the scale of government intervention. He emphasized that these programs need to be accompanied by proper oversight to ensure effective implementation, targeted delivery, and sustainability.

Cahyo also emphasized that implementation of MBG must continue to be closely monitored to ensure the program genuinely improves children’s nutritional status and quality of life.

Digitalization of Social Assistance

Meanwhile, in social sector, Cahyo appreciated digitalization of social assistance registration, which has been implemented in 143 regencies/cities across 26 provinces.

He said that, digitalization can help improve data accuracy while reducing administrative burdens for people living in poverty.

“I see the data accuracy is key. People who are entitled to assistance should not be left without support, while those who are not eligible continue to receive it. Digitalization must make public services more accessible, transparent, and targeted,” he emphasized.

Cahyo also appreciated government efforts to improve housing quality through housing revitalization programs and Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS).

According to him, the program complements government policies to alleviate poverty through an approach that addresses people’s basic needs.

“Housing revitalization and BSPS programs being promoted are part of President Prabowo’s holistic efforts to alleviate poverty. Not only from an economic perspective, but also by ensuring that people have comfortable homes, good health, and inclusive, quality education,” Cahyo said.

Welfare Development Must Be Integrated

As a member of Commission E of The East Java DPRD, Cahyo stated that community welfare development cannot be carried out in a fragmented manner.

Improving housing, access to healthcare, education, and social protection must be carried out in an integrated manner to ensure government interventions have a more tangible impact.

“When their homes are decent, their health is maintained, and children receive a good education, families have a stronger foundation to escape poverty. This is what we must oversee together to ensure government programs truly reach people in need,” he said.

Cahyo hopes these achievements will continue to be overseen by government together with all elements of society. He emphasized that success of development must ultimately be reflected in improved quality of life for the people.

“The measure of government success is not only reflected in achievement figures, but also in how people experience the benefits. When people are healthier, children receive proper education, and poor families receive appropriate social protection, that is where spirit of a Sovereign, Equitable, and Prosperous Indonesia is truly realized,” he concluded.
