Banjarmasin City - Vice Chairman of the East Java Regional House of Representatives, Anik Maslachah, emphasizes reducing inflation that occurred in East Java as the South Kalimantan Provincial Government was able to get out of the top 10 national inflation.
"Today, we, Commission B of the East Java Regional House of Representatives, related to the current economy situation, are very concerned about the high inflation rate in East Java, especially in Madura region. Through this visit, we want to discuss how South Kalimantan is able to get out of which being in the top 10 national inflation rate. We want to explore information that can be carried out to reduce the inflation rate," said Anik after leading the Working Visit of Commission B of the East Java DPRD to the South Kalimantan DPRD in Banjarmasin City, on Wednesday (6/3/2024).
Furthermore, Anik also added that this visit aimed to balance the buying and selling rates which are still considered skewed.
"Looking at the trade statistics, the East Java and South Kalimantan trade is quite large, even which is ranked 2nd after East Java and DKI Jakarta. It is 17.9% of East Java purchasing to South Kalimantan or about 26 billion. Otherwise, Kalimantan purchasing to East Java is only at 1.9 billion, meaning that it is still lopsided. A lot of East Java citizen purchase commodities from South Kalimantan but not vice versa. Thus, we want to re-strengthen how to balance the trade between South Kalimantan and East Java," added Anik.
