The East Java Regional House of Representatives - Ready to Collaborate to Achieve Public Welfare in East Java

The East Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD Jatim) has held a plenary session for the handover ceremony of the Governor and Deputy Governor of East Java, as well as the presentation of the vision and mission of the newly elected provincial leaders.

On behalf of the leadership and all members of the East Java DPRD, The East Java DPRD Chairman Musyafak Rouf extended his congratulations to Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Emil Elestianto Dardak on their reappointment as Governor and Deputy Governor of East Java. 

“May the newly appointed Governor and Deputy Governor be granted health, ease, smoothness, and safety in carrying out their duties. And may under the leadership of the Governor and Deputy Governor of East Java in the coming period bring progress and prosperity for all the people of East Java,” he said.

Musyafak stated that the challenges for the Governor and Deputy Governor for the 2025 - 2030 period are not easy. Among the challenges are the implementation of the Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 1 of 2025 on Budget Efficiency, as well as the enforcement of the Law on Fiscal Relations between Central Government and Regional Government (HKPD Law) which has led to a reduction in local revenue. 

“The challenges ahead will certainly not be easy, especially in light of the Presidential Instruction No. 1 of 2025, which essentially mandates efficiency from the Central Government, as well as the decline in East Java’s Regional Revenue following the implementation of tax option policies. These are challenges we must face together by continuing to work as efficiently as possible,” he said. 

Nevertheless, Musyafak assured that the legislature, with an open spirit, will synergize with the executive in improving and implementing work programs over the next five years. 

We convey that the East Java Provincial DPRD is ready to collaborate with the East Java Provincial Government under the leadership of Madam Governor Khofifah, to work together in realizing progress and prosperity of the people of East Java.
