Promoting Women's Independence, Lilik Hendarwati Holds MUA Training

In an effort to promote women's independence and economic empowerment, the East Java Regional House of Representatives member from the Surabaya electoral district, Lilik Hendarwati, held a Make Up Artist (MUA) training for mothers who are members of the Laksita Akademi community at Pasar Turi, Surabaya.

n an effort to promote women's independence and economic empowerment, the East Java Regional House of Representatives member from the Surabaya electoral district, Lilik Hendarwati, held a Make Up Artist (MUA) training for mothers who are members of the Laksita Akademi community at Pasar Turi, Surabaya.

The event took place in Surabaya and was attended by numerous of enthusiastic participants who engaged in every training session. In addition to technical skills in makeup artistry, the participants were also equipped with entrepreneurial spirit to open independent business opportunities in the field of beauty and makeup.

In her remarks, Lilik Hendarwati stated that this activity is not merely a skills training, but part of an effort to strengthen women's communities so they can become more empowered and support one another.

“Today we are holding a MUA training for mothers, and the participants are members of Laksita Akademi. Hopefully, Laksita will not only grow as a community, but also develop and thrive, supporting one another, becoming a space for growth, progress, and strengthening social ties among residents in Surabaya,” said the Chair of the PKS (Partai Keadilan Sejahtera) faction in the East Java Regional House of Representatives.

She added that this training aligns with her commitment to continuously be present and strengthen the community, especially women in East Java.

"We want the people of East Java, especially the residents of Surabaya, to continue growing into a resilient, independent, and supportive community. Trainings like this are one of our efforts to create new opportunities for women to contribute both economically and socially within their communities," said the treasurer of East Java's PKS (Partai Keadilan Sejahtera) Regional Leadership Council (DPW).

The training participants said they were greatly helped by this activity. In addition to gaining new skills, they also felt motivated to start pursuing a business in the field of makeup artistry, either independently or in groups.

This MUA training serves as concrete evidence of collaboration between elected representatives and local communities in building a more empowered and inclusive society. Going forward, Lilik hopes that similar activities can continue to be held to reach more residents, especially women who seek growth and independence.
